A health scare and a surgery to remove a particularly nasty brain tumour rendered Charlie paralysed from the neck down, and he began to grow appreciative and even loving of the Browns, his latest foster family, who had put their own lives on hold simply to care for him.

Once an opportunity arose for Charlie to undergo experimental treatments to cure his paralysis, he jumped at the chance to remove the burden of his care from the Browns, and was transported unknowing to him to another planet, where he would become a cadet of the brand new arm of the earth militaries: The Space Corps.

A cadet in a wheelchair would be difficult for the others to accept, though finding friendships in Laura and Mauro, Charlie battled through and as a member of the GAP (Generic Advancement) Program, he began to grow into something so much more than he could’ve ever imagined. Charlie would never have imagined the advancements to his physical body that the GAP Program would provide, though leaving his wheelchair would soon show to be the least of his trials as he battles for the very survival of himself, his friends, planet Earth, and humanity as a whole.

Freedom Online: From the Ashes is the sequal to The Copper Rose.

Continuing on from the events of Freedom Online: The Copper Rose, Tandy, Ushuk, Rachel and Bones must fight to return the Coyote Creek settlement to it’s former glory, though the surrounding forest is not the majestic sea of green that it once was. Reduced to ash and burnt husks, the group must travel across the seas to find help where it may not be so freely given. If there was one thing that Tandy ever was though, it was a team player. By relying on the people surrounding him, it seems there’s nothing he can’t overcome, or achieve.

Back in the real world, we find out a little more about Rapture Entertainment and their plans for the future, which many would categorise, as a pretty good thing for the entire world.

OK, I need to clear something up before I start. I’m not Jack the Ripper.

I was actually a pretty normal guy for the most part. I enjoyed drinking, spending time with my friends and family, then all of a sudden I found myself transformed into a Reaper of Souls and sent back in time to Victorian London.

At first, I didn’t know if I was in a drunken nightmare or if I had been drugged, though as the time passed it became clearer that this was my new reality and I had no choice but to simply get used to it.

I had been sent back to act as a ‘Nighttime Reaper’, guiding lost souls to the afterworld, though I would quickly find that a part of my human self still remained and during the day I would revert to it.

At night, I would become the Reaper. A part of the magic that transformed me though, meant that anyone looking directly at me would see but a shadow of a man, not wholly there though not entirely absent either.

I found out that my powers meant I was constantly teleported to the victims of others as they experienced mortal peril. I would learn that perhaps I could help people, rather than what I thought Reapers were supposed to do.

A normal guy, though in the wrong time by day and a Reaper by night, Join me as I try to use my powers for good, rather than evil and bring an end to the horrific killings in Whitechapel in the 1880’s.

This includes levelling and LitRPG/Gamelit elements... and has a loose basis in history. It's a complete read so you don't have to worry about missing out on anything!

‘My name is Daniel Cross and I was bored as hell living aboard the IPC Wanderlust. Space was boring, living with the same people was boring and having to eat the same food was boring. Everything changed for me though the day that we answered a distress call from an unknown ship called the Saturn. If I have to deal with the ship’s AI for too much longer though I don't know what I‘ll be capable of...’

With nobody on board, the Saturn was a bit of a mystery and I felt as though I was destined to live my life in perpetual loneliness and boredom the day that my ship left me stranded aboard the derelict with no hope of rescue and little chance of surviving long term.

Finding that the Saturn was also a Space Corps ship like my own the Wanderlust, though from some time in the future it seemed, the ship’s artificial Intelligence helped somewhat sarcastically and very annoyingly to get me enlisted as the one live crew member aboard the vessel. Little did I know that this would mean having to carry out the orders given by the AI, being either direct or coercive.

Eventually finding that the previous crew of the Saturn were still dotted around the system in a sense, my orders required me to save them from the planets that they’d been sent to wage war and ultimately had been stranded on.

Using the technology of the future combined with the training and tactical knowledge of my past, I could see things a little differently to those who I interacted with and as such brought a new dynamic to battles waged in the present, though with futuristic tech.

This story contains stat pages, inventories, world-building, levelling, skills, magic and battles. Also, there are NO HAREMS or adult scenes!


The battle to come:
The enemy that had been left behind remained completely still as they watched their kin approach the walls of William’s campsite.

From their perspective, they watched as the spiders and ants were briefly slowed by the still waters of the crystal moat, entering it on one side before slowly emerging from the water the other. Then, they would easily climb the wooden walls that separated them from their prey.
